To all friends of the Dharma,
Good news!
From 4 to 12 April, we will have the great fortune to welcome His Eminence Gyaltsen Tulku Rinpoche to Drukpa Plouray.

Born in 1953 in Tashiyangtse in eastern Bhutan, Kunzang Tenpai Gyaltsen, better known as Kyabje Gyaltsen Tulkou Rinpoche, was recognised at the age of nine by the great Master His Eminence Lama Seunam Zangpo Rinpoche, disciple of the great yogi Drubwang Shakya Shri, as the reincarnation of Trulshik Lam Gyaltsen, also known as Gyaltsen Marpa.
After spending more than ten years at Mem Kha Man and Dali Gompa near the first Kyabje Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche and Khenchen Noryang, from whom he received numerous teachings as well as oral scriptural transmissions (Loung) and initiations (Wang) from the glorious Drukpa Lineage, at the age of twenty-three, His Eminence Gyaltsen Tulku Rinpoche returned to Bhutan where, under the guidance of His Eminence Lama Seunam Zangpo, he went into strict retreat for five years to accomplish the Preliminary Practices ten times. Still in retreat, he then practised the Six Yogas of Naropa for more than six years. At the age of thirty-four, His Eminence Kyabje Gyaltsen Tulku Rinpoche began his Enlightened Activity by teaching an ever-growing number of disciples.
As the principal spiritual heir of the Drubwang Shakya Shri tradition, His Eminence Gyaltsen Tulku Rinpoche is one of the most renowned Mahamudra and Dzogchen Masters in the entire Himalayan region. He currently runs twelve retreat centres in Bhutan where he teaches Mahamudra and gives meditation and practice instructions, particularly on the Six Yogas of Naropa. He guides more than 8,000 practitioners on the path to Enlightenment, mainly in Bhutan and India.

We are very fortunate, as this is the third time that His Eminence Gyaltsen Tulku Rinpoche will honour us with his presence at Drukpa Plouray.
His Eminence will teach on Mahamudra and comment on the text entitled ‘Aspiration for the Seven Qualities of Virtuous Practice’, composed in the thirteenth century by Drogon Tsangpa Gyare, the founder of the Drukpa Lineage. His Eminence will also confer the Akshobya Initiation with Jin Tsek (purification by fire) and the Lama Tcheupa (Guru Yoga) initiation according to the Linchen Repa tradition.
A perfectly accomplished yogi, His Eminence Kyabje Gyaltsen Tulkou Rinpoche has perfectly realised the purity and depth of the yogic practices transmitted for over 800 years in the tradition of the Glorious Drukpa Lineage. Therefore, I cannot recommend highly enough that you do everything possible to attend this exceptional spiritual event next April at Drukpa Plouray.
Yours sincerely,
Drubpön Ngawang Tenzin Pagsam Yongdu
Representative of His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa in Europe
